How to determine the subject(s) of a work
Types of Library of Congress subjects, including topical, geographic, genre, children’s, and subdivisions
Review of MARC coding in subject authority records, including fixed and variable fields
How to construct a subject heading string
Searching in the OCLC authority file
Use of established headings in bibliographic records
Prerequisite
Attendees should be familiar with MARC coding and authority records.
