Requesting Items from SWAN Libraries (SHARE Illinois Sunsetting)

Open to all libraries, SWAN staff will demonstration and review how to set up a custom holdings path in OCLC to request items from SWAN libraries, as well as demonstrate the process of requesting through OCLC WorldShare ILL. With the sunsetting of SHARE Illinois, all SWAN libraries actively participate in OCLC WorldShare ILL and accept requests through this resource sharing network. We will assist libraries previously using SHARE Illinois access to the SWAN catalog to make requests through OCLC.

We will review Service Configuration settings for custom holdings groups/paths, constant data, and Policy Directory settings for lending and deflection. In addition the process of searching and making an ILL request in OCLC WorldShare ILL will be demonstrated. We will also share our internal documentation on configuration and resource sharing to assist libraries outside of SWAN.
