Breaking Down Barriers: Building Up Communities - ILA Virtual Annual Conference

How has your library responded to the disruption that COVID-19 has caused? What steps is it taking to increase awareness of systemic racism, social injustice, and other current issues? How has the past year forced you, your co-workers, and your colleagues to “think outside the box” while designing and implementing library services and programs? Breaking Down Barriers: Building Up Communities will explore how we as individuals and institutions can overcome challenges and think creatively.

This year's conference will be held virtually on the PheedLoop platform. 

Awarding-winning author Clint Smith will be our keynote speaker and the first 190 people to register for the conference will receive a free copy of his #1 New York Times Bestseller How the Word is Passed: a Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America. 

Additional speakers include ALA Executive Director Tracie D. Hall; St. Louis based cartoonist, editor, and professor Steenz; and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Librarian at the University of Florida Libraries Twanna K. Hodge.

Early Bird rate deadline is September 13th. No registrations will be accepted after October 8th.
