SLA Illinois Virtual Tour: Adler Planetarium

The Adler Planetarium is home not only to one of the largest and most significant collections of historic scientific instruments in the world, but also to a splendid rare book library focusing on astronomy and related fields. Additionally, the Adler’s collections include manuscripts, archival materials, models, artwork, and photographs. In this presentation Dr. Pedro Raposo, the Adler’s Curator and Director of Collections, will give an overview of the collections, showcase a few selected items, and explain how the Adler’s collections serve a worldwide research community while being used to engage varied audiences with science and its history, in the US and abroad.
