Please register here: https://railslibraries.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0ofu2ppj0vHtLaa0BlIMzrNHabu3SBq2Yn
After registering, Zoom will email you instructions how to join the meeting. If you have trouble joining the meeting at 1:00 pm on May 3rd, please call the RSA Help Desk at 1-866-940-4083 for assistance.
This meeting will discuss:
- Results from the February 24 to March 11, 2022 survey regarding the RSA membership’s interest in the standardization of new item types, such as BOOK-NEW, NEW-BOOK, and DVD-NEW
- The item types for new materials that are proposed to replace the existing new item types, with the goal of ensuring consistency and easing understanding of holds availability
- Draft of an ongoing project to batch edit existing items assigned new item types that were cataloged longer than one year ago
- The impact of this project on libraries that create brief records for new items that are on-order
Please join us on May 3rd to learn more about this important project and the effect on cataloging. Meeting attendees are encouraged to ask questions and share their thoughts.
An agenda and accompanying documents to review prior to the meeting will be shared on the RSA listserv and posted on the RSA Database Committee web page.
For those unable to attend on May 3rd, notes will be taken, and the meeting will be recorded. Please watch the RSA listserv for an announcement once the meeting archive is ready.
