In partnership with the Gerber/Hart Library and Archives and Read & Run Chicago, archival resources were used to study the classic lesbian pulp novel The Girls in 3-B.
The collaboration culminated in a historical running tour, which led participants to the actual locations from the book. The result was a program that brought libraries and local history out onto Chicago streets.
This webinar will outline the steps for other libraries to research, write, and host similar events for their local books. The unique marriage between literature, history, and outreach creates a template for reaching new audiences and areas of your community.
