Together we seek to create a safe space for frontline staff and social workers working in libraries and nonprofits, as well as other stakeholders, to explore the intersection between social work and libraries. Subjects of interest include best practices for developing social worker positions in library spaces, including but not limited to logistics, evaluation, and implementation; developing connections between social service organizations and libraries; increasing trauma-informed services; and creating a safe welcoming space for all library patrons.
Given the unprecedented times we are experiencing, we want to make sure to use this time in a way that is most relevant for participants. If you have a topic or question you would like to discuss or know of any relevant resources or events you would like to share, please contact co-chair Megan Tideman at mtidem16@gmail.com by Tuesday, March 25 so we can include it in the agenda. The meeting will also include time for open discussion among participants.
