About This Event

Let's talk about our most successful programs for kids in grades K-3rd and their families. Share your favorite "program recipe" or come to learn from others - either way, you will leave the programming potluck with a bunch of new programming dishes to try out at your library! We'll meet at Glenview Public Library to share about programs we've run for this age group from 1-3pm. Afterwards, Glenview staff will lead a tour of their recently renovated Youth spaces from 3:00-3:30. 

This meeting is hosted by Emergent Readers & Lower Elementary (ERLE), a group for public and school library professionals interested in learning about and discussing the unique needs of youth in Grades K-3. 

Please consider making a "recipe" for your favorite program to share! Include the materials used, prep and setup, and program activities, then print some copies of the recipe card to pass out at the potluck. Programs shared should be for kids around the age of Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade. While you can share on any topic, we'd especially love to hear about:

  • Literacy-based programs
  • Intergenerational programs
  • Gaming programs
  • Culinary programs
  • STEAM programs
  • Craft and "maker" programs
  • Fan or Pop Culture programs
