Neurodiversity 101: Inclusive Customer Service for Neurodivergent Patrons (ATLAS Multi-Library Day Presentation)

For public libraries to cultivate accessible environments for patrons, staff at all
levels need to learn how to serve people with disabilities, including those patrons who are
neurodivergent. This training will define the term “neurodiversity” and explore what it means to
be neurodivergent. Learn about ways you can adjust your mindset and your communication
strategies to support positive customer service interactions at your library. Then, apply what you
learned to a practical scenario and discuss strategies in small and large groups.
