Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Participants build skills to provide initial support to those who are struggling.
Participants will learn:
- Common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges
- How to interact with a person in crisis
- How to connect a person with help
- Self-care tools and techniques
Important Information: Mental Health First Aid requires approximately two hours of work to be done independently before the in-person training. This training must be completed by May 17 to participate in the training on May 21. Do not register for this training if you are unable to commit to completing this pre-work.
The in-person training is from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an hour lunch break. Lunch is on your own.
