The Lenhardt Library offers a general collection for staff, members, and visitors and contains books and journals on subjects such as botany, horticulture, gardening, plant conservation, restoration ecology, horticultural therapy, Midwest flora, international flora, landscape design, garden design, phytopathology, soil science, and pest and disease diagnosis, in formats including print and e-books. The library also offers a youth collection, activity books, a periodical collection, rare books and journals, and the archives of the Chicago Horticultural Society. This event will include a tour and an opportunity to connect/network with colleagues. The tour, hosted by Leora Siegel, Senior Library Director and SLA Illinois member will also include a rare book room viewing.
Attendees will receive free parking and free admission. The Garden can also be reached by public transportation via Metra and Pace buses.
Attendees are welcome to stay at the Garden after the tour has completed. The Garden grounds remain open until 8:00 pm on June evenings. In addition, free outdoor concerts take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm during the summer months. Librarian guests can do-it-all on Wednesday, June 7!

This event is in-person only. Registration closes 48 hours before the event. Any library worker from any Illinois library is welcome to register. Registration is free and limited to 20 participants max.
