Preserving Community Memories: Lessons from IHLS’s Mobile Memory Lab
Speaker: Linda Johnson, SHARE Cataloger
Session Description:
Libraries have a powerful role to play in safeguarding this local memory. By scanning photographs and preserving family documents, libraries can help ensure that our shared community story is never lost. The Mobile Memory Lab (MML) grant project has expanded to include more libraries this fiscal year. Linda Johnson will explain how the Mobile Memory Lab project has impacted communities, the lessons staff have learned implementing the MML, and what libraries can do to preserve their own communities' unique histories.
